About this site

Hi, I'm Caitlin and Snow Moon Oak is a little site to combine my favorite things: travel, sewing, and other adventures.

Travel

As part of a family of 6 we mostly drove on all our vacations until I was in high school. Growing up with a sense of adventure on being able to jump in the car and transport yourself to a different landscape has only continued to grow as I get older. The first big trip I took with my now husband when we first started dating was to go on a road trip to Glacier National Park for a long weekend. After that I got him to also fall in love with taking various road trips around the west coast. We try to take a long summer road trip each year and smaller road trips throughout the year.

Sewing

The next favorite thing of mine has become sewing. I've always wanted to sew my own clothes and in 2022 I finally got a sewing machine to get started. It has been a process to learn how to sew a variety of things, some items don't quite turn out, but at the end of the day I'm still having a lot of fun. I've been able to start making a few more complicated items and even copy some clothes I already own. My hope is that I will be able to make the majority of my clothes in the future.

Other Adventures

The last item that I'll talk about on this site is other adventures. Which is really more of a placeholder to be able to talk about things from cooking to baking healthy treats to training for various athletic races. I'm excited to see what this new journey is going to bring!

All that said I'm excited to get some content out there for folks to enjoy!
